Shari Rightmer
Before being forced to move into the nearest homeless shelter, Shari Rightmer lived a luxurious life in her home of Beverly Hills, CA. Her husband was a rockstar, her family was growing, and her training in medicine allowed her to work with the sort of world-renowned doctors that California celebrities prefer. She took care of people as famous as Elizabeth Taylor, and she even felt like a rich a famous star herself as she walked the streets of Beverly Hills, stopping to shop on Rode Drive whenever the urge struck. She was carefree. And then she lost it all.
Her husband passed away, her son was taken away, and she moved into the bed that inspired her to write Bunk #11. There, she had to reshape her understanding of the world, of others, and of herself as she tried to piece her life back together. And she was able to do it—but not alone.
Today, after surviving the loss of everything she held dear, Rightmer speaks to people about how they too can overcome unexpected challenges. She teaches people how to discover who they truly are, set aside superficial concerns, and turn disaster into an opportunity for growth. She has motivated hundreds, and her dynamic lectures can empower the survivor in anyone.
