In Anita’s Heaven, author Norman Ober tells the story of his loving relationship with his wife of 47 years, Anita. Shortly after she left this world in 1990, Ober started receiving channeled letters from her lonely spirit. And for the next thirteen years, he would document these letters–the ultimate testament to the everlasting nature of love between husband and wife–and how they changed him.
Ober took his time while writing Anita’s Heaven. Having been forced to meet deadlines all throughout his professional life in network radio and magazine writing, he refused to put a time limit on this piece.
During the long years he devoted to this project, Ober went through many changes. His wife’s letters transformed him from an atheist to a deist and allowed him to finally confront feelings, including a simmering hatred, that he had been trying to quell since boyhood.
In 2008, Ober finally joined his wife in Heaven, though it can truly be said that he never felt very far away from her.
